“As every therapist will tell you, healing involves discomfort. But so does refusing to heal. And over time, refusing to heal is always more painful.”
— Dr. Resmaa Menakem, LCSW, SEP
You were never meant to do this alone.
Reaching out to another human, someone who will listen compassionately, without judgment, and giving voice to the truth of what has caused you pain, is like finally pulling a splinter out of your finger after years of trying to “just move on” or “just get over it.” If it’s time to take action on healing the pain of your losses, you’ve come to the right place.
No matter who or what you have lost, your grief is 1000% real, valid and worthy of acknowledgement.
You might be nervous about whether your loss is important enough to talk about with others. You might be ashamed or embarrassed that you haven’t been able to move on from the kind of loss that others seem to have gotten over easily. Or you might be avoiding feeling the depth of your grief because you don’t want to (or can’t afford to) fall apart for any amount of time. My deepest commitment is to welcome you and your emotions and guide you through the steps of grief recovery so that you can feel what it’s like to be relieved of the pain and suffering of loss.

Groups provide evidence and validation of the ways we’ve all been ill-advised on how to deal with loss, endings, goodbyes and grief.
Groups create mutual accountability and responsibility to be there for each other through the challenge of grief recovery.
Build a community of others in grief who now know how to be great listeners. Practice your new skills with each other after the group is finished.
Groups offer you a place to express feelings about past events honestly and openly and to feel heard and understood.

Make Room for Grief
I utilize the Grief Recovery Method® (GRM)—a step-by-step approach to finding where one is incomplete with a past loss, and then working toward a sense of completion.
Secular
We don’t mention religion and welcome all faith traditions.
All losses welcome
We do not segregate people by type of loss.
Experiential
We practice in the room the skills we need to stay present for grief (our own and others’).
Dispel myths
Most of us have learned unhealthy ways to cope with loss, and we unwittingly pass them down to younger generations.
Not therapy, but therapeutic
This is an action-based program using “The Grief Recovery Handbook” by John James & Russell Friedman.
Evidence-Based
This approach was researched at Kent State University and proven to be an effective way to help people heal unresolved grief.
